Meet Your Counselor, Jacque

Hi! I'm Jacque Raftery, I am glad you found my website and hope that after learning more about me and the counseling services I provide you feel ready to take the next step in your or your child's healing process and schedule your first counseling appointment.

Welcome to Nurtured Connections, my supervised private practice that was established in April 2025. I have lived and worked in Sierra Vista since 2008. I spent a majority of that time working in our community mental health system in a variety of roles while I earned my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2012. I was a full time counselor until I started growing my family and found myself working in Early Childhood Education as a Preschool Director until all my children were old enough to begin public school.

I am passionate about enacting change and believe that with the right supports in place ordinary people can be the change that our community and world needs. I volunteer my time on the Parent Teacher Organization at my children's school and have held a board position for the last 3 school years. I am in the process of joining the First Things First Regional Council for Cochise County and I was a member of the Board of Directors of Cactus Wren Cooperative Preschool for 8 years. The community of Sierra Vista is my home and I hope to continue to positively contribute through serving my clients and their families as a counselor.

My commitment to my clients and my community is to provide high quality, accessible and affordable mental health services that promote resilience. I strive to support my clients to grow from their challenging circumstances that brought them to counseling into a thriving, balanced, full life. I approach counseling utilizing a combination of research based therapeutic methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Sandtray Therapy and Child Centered Play Therapy.
